Election year 2019 was a very interesting year for the Garfield Heights School Board. To shatter the school board with a measure of diversity and graded substance, the residents of Garfield Heights made a bold and historic decision on November 5, 2019. The constituents elected not one but two African American Women to the Garfield Heights School Board; Ashley M. Thomas (M.Ed.) and Nichelle N. Daniels. Beating incumbents was grueling, but Thomas and Daniels ran a bold and fierce campaign as they raced to make a difference. Both ladies were victorious! As a result, Garfield Heights School Board will be forever diverse.
We applaud Thomas and Daniels for being the colorful change agents within Garfield Heights. We collectively thank them for their Historic Victory!
