Council Candidate Kimberly F Brown

"I come from proud a family that has been involved with public service for as long as I can remember. I want to work for you. We need to create more living-wage jobs, improve our schools, and make public safety - especially getting guns off the streets, a top priority. With nearly 30 years of community service and advocacy, I know what it takes to find solutions, navigate the complicated governmental agencies, and get things done. Here's what I mean;

Since our former president Donald Trump has embraced "stop and frisk," candidates for council are the best protection against it.  I promise to write and introduce anti-stop and frisk ordinances that will prevent police officers from randomly stopping, questioning, and randomly searching Clevelanders without probable cause.  The late Rep. Louis Stokes fought Terry v. Ohio all the way to the Supreme Court of the United States to end this police violation of our 4th Amendment constitutional rights in 1966.  We have all these streets and buildings named in his honor, and we don't honor him with legislation that solves a problem he settled 50 years ago.  We shouldn't even be having stop and frisk conversations in this day and age, thanks to Stokes, so I - Kimberly F.  Brown - will write and work with other like-minded members of the council to make sure Trump doesn't misguide Cleveland police officers into thinking that violating our constitutional rights is acceptable.

For Example, We will create a collective Progressive Platform for  Cleveland Ward ONE

#1 - An Anti-Stop & Frisk Ordinance that clearly instructs Cleveland police officers that this practice is unconstitutional and illegal.  The ordinance will make it a first-degree misdemeanor for any law enforcement officer, security officer, or person operating under the color of law to stop and frisk anyone whom they do not know or have a reasonable and articulable suspicion to have committed a crime.

I will continue to fight for the betterment of our neighborhood, schools, and families. I will continue to stand for what is right, and work with all who are in support of the collective whole. We will immediately begin to implement the Safety Initiative "Saving Our Community" as well as look at health disparities issues that are ruining our children, families, and neighborhood(s).
Cleveland Ward ONE residents, our time is "right now". We must learn to tolerate less and Expect Much More; We Deserve Better. Let's Right the Wrong "

"There is Nothing Wrong with Commanding Quality Services & More".  Join Team Brown as we work to build our neighborhood, and preserve our past!

All residents renting the equipment must attend a two-hour mandatory lawn equipment training course

We will create and assist with fair legislation, and challenge policies that are not good for the collective whole. We will assure that residents’ voices are heard and ideas are considered prior to moving forward on any and all projects affecting the WARD ONE Community. We will re-create the structure of Cleveland WARD ONE ward office. We will implement a council office with a resource center regarding local job, and volunteer opportunities, a missing person bureau, and a computer lab. We will empower this group to aid, support, and special events, and work with members of our community center to build cohesiveness and community structure. Most important will introduce the 2 for 2 "playing it safe institution plan"
