The Brown Report; How We Got Started

"Kim, I will not let you become bitter. I understand. I get it. You are smart and extremely talented. Stay in the fight. F--- them. You can win. Your heart is in the right place" says, Eric J. Brewer - Former Mayor of East Cleveland

Following Election 2013, Kimberly F. Brown took her loss pretty hard. Brown was upset not so much that she was defeated by the incumbent, but more so because a close friend back stabbed her. Brown was devastated. Not being able to separate politics and friendship, Brown was

bitter. Eric Brewer began to talk with Brown over social media. Brewer told Brown to develop a new campaign. Brewer stated "Kim, start a newspaper in WARD ONE. Let voters know who you are and what you stand for - start holding forums and attending meeting. Get to know

WARD ONE better than the councilperson." Brown did exactly as she was told. On February 1, 2014, the first edition of the Brown Report hit the street of Cleveland. Brown started the paper and never looked back. She has also taken the leadership position in WARD ONE in

holding safety forums, political forums and health and wellness forums for seniors in WARD ONE, Warrensville, Highland Hills, and Maple Heights. More so, she has

used her publisher's status to support public policy, voter's rights and education and community issues, investigate and resolve scams in the community and get vacant lots cleaned and bring attention to abandoned properties. Brown takes pride in working with the DeBose family with

getting a secondary street name for Holly Hill Drive

" Congratulations. Your growth over the past year has been phenomenally impressive. It's Brilliant," says Brewer.

Brown is a graduate of Baldwin Wallace College, the Ohio School of Broadcasting. She earned her master's degree in public administration from Strayer University. Brown is a member of the Alpha Chi Honorary Society.

Currently, Brown publishes the Brown Report Monthly. She is frequently seen on 19 Action News with Carl Monday. Recently she was the campaign manager and political strategist for Annette M. McMillian Blackwell of Maple Heights, Ohio. Under Brown's direction, Blackwell became the first woman of color to serve as Mayor of Maple Heights - Election 2015
